#moe2024 Selection Rating

In addition to invitations, players receive points in the #moe2024 Selection Rating for approved tournaments

The #moe2024 Selection Rating, as well as the Skill Issue rating, will influence the issuance of direct invitations by the organizers

For each of the approved #moe2024 tournaments, its "strength" is calculated by the organizers

The tournament's "strength" depends on the average Skill Issue rating of the top 16* players/teams before the first match of the tournament (Top16Avg)

For team tournaments, the Skill Issue rating of the team is calculated as the average of all team members' ratings

The tournament strength (TS) is calculated using the formula
[TS=(Top16Avg6000)×(FormatTeamsize)Type][TS = (Top16Avg - 6000) \times \left(\frac{Format}{Teamsize}\right)^{Type}]
  • Format is the number of players simultaneously playing each map (1 for 1vs1 tournaments, 4 for 4vs4 tournaments, etc.),
  • Teamsize is the maximum allowed team size for the tournament
  • Type - tournament type, numerical value equals 2 for draft tournaments and other tournaments with non-standard team compositions according to the organizers, 1 - for others (e.g., solo, simple team tournaments without restrictions).

If the value of TS < 0, the tournament cannot be considered in the #moe2024 selection rating A player receives R points in their Selection Rating depending on:

  • TS - tournament strength
  • T - number of players/teams that qualified
  • M - final placement in the tournament
The final formula
[R=TS×5(1logT(M))+(4M+TM+1T)10][ R = TS \times \frac{{5(1 - \log_T(M)) + \left(\frac{4}{M} + \frac{T-M+1}{T}\right)}}{10} ]

Examples of point distribution for a tournament with TS = 1000 and T = 64, 32, 16, and a graph for TS = 1000, T = 64:

Additionally, R points can be reduced by the event organizers for forfeited (FF) matches

Each player's Selection Rating takes into account up to 10 tournaments with the highest number of earned points, among which there can be only 1 tournament with a strongly highlighted limited registration (examples: WC tournaments, student tournaments).

The final Selection Rating of a player is calculated using a weighted formula with coefficients ranging from 1 to 0.1 in steps of 0.1

In other words, from the "best" tournament, the player will receive 100% of the earned points, from the second best - 90%, from the third - 80%, and so on, up to the tenth tournament - 10% of the points
